Is this a sheep? - East Cape

We are in New Zealand for two weeks now, but just saw loads of cows and not a lot of sheep. And shouldn't be New Zealand the land of the sheep?!
This is our new friend Erika by the way, we met her when we were Freedom Camping at the East Cape, she was the only cow that wasn't behind the fence, Erika walked around on the car park. And we met her family later on the beach and the street, after being up at the lighthouse at the "easternmostpoint" of the world (sounds so weird, but thats what the map says).
It's definitly worth to go there (and visit Erika).

White Island

When I heard about White Island the first time, I thought about something like the Whitsundays, a white beach, palmtrees, lying in the sun... But I was completly wrong. White Island is the only still aktive islandvulcano in New Zealand.
We went there by Boat and saw lots of dolphins on the way. We walked about two hours around White Isalnd itself and saw the crater, loads of yellow sulfur stuff and it was more like being on an other planet, then just two hours away from NZ, pretty amazing and even more unusual with the helmets and the masks.
At the end we could jump from the boat into the Sea before we left again to the mainland.

Auckland or 6min fireworks

We spent a beautiful day in Auckland and came later for the new years eve fireworks which were just 6! minutes long. The only fireworks came out of the Skytower, there were no "private" fireworks and after the six minutes everybody hugged their friends and family and left! We didn't even dared to open our sparkling wine as everybody was just drinking coffee and juice, but nobody! alcohol! A bit dissapointing, but at least one minute longer than in Cape Town ;) and it was still nice.
